The 2024 International Capture The Flag (iCTF) competition concluded today, November 22, at 4:00 PM, after six days of challenges that tested participants' cybersecurity skills. Running from November 16, this year’s iCTF brought together high school and undergraduate teams from around the world.
Competition Highlights
High School Division
Teams faced 28 challenges, submitted 280 flags, and performed 2,930 incorrect attempts. The top teams were:
- we lost (Dos Pueblos High School) - $3,000 Prize
- Touch Grass (Panther Creek High School) - $2,000 Prize
- 4mail (Alliance Academy for Innovation) - Disqualified from cash prizes
- 95th/Dan Ryan (CTA Red Kube) (University of Chicago Laboratory Schools) - $1,000 Prize

Undergraduate Division
In this division, 25 challenges resulted in the submission of 284 correct flags and 2,318 incorrect submissions.
The top teams were:
- Hack_of_all_trades - University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) -- Pictured above
- Shomiti - Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology
- broccoli cheddar soup - UCSB & Arizona State University (ASU)

Looking Forward
The iCTF team thanks all participants for their efforts and enthusiasm this year. As the organizers prepare for next year, they aim to grow the competition to include 50 schools and welcome any feedback on how to improve the event. Thank you to everyone who participated, and congratulations to the winning teams. We look forward to hosting the iCTF again next year!
