Mary Ann Blair is the Associate Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer at Carnegie Mellon. Working with an outstanding team, she is responsible for the university's information security program, and identity and access management services.
Prior to establishing the Information Security Office, Mary Ann served as Director of Administrative Computing at Carnegie Mellon, leading various applications development, systems integration, and systems maintenance projects over a fifteen year period.
Before joining Carnegie Mellon, Mary Ann served as the Director of Data Management at the University of Pittsburgh's Epidemiology Data Center responsible for systems and services to support national, multi-center research efforts.
Mary Ann is active in EDUCAUSE and its partner programs. She has served in numerous capacities including: EDUCAUSE/Internet2 Security Task Force; Program Committee for the Annual and Security Professionals Conferences; and CUMREC Board of Directors. She holds a B.S. in Psychology/Philosophy and an M.S. in Information Science, both from the University of Pittsburgh. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon's Heinz College Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Executive Education Certificate Program and the FBI CISO Academy and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
